November 3rd, Happy Birthday Panama! 103 years old!

This was a very good day. Wonderful! 103 years ago Panama separated from Colombia. And today, in celebration of that, as every other November 3rd in my life, i went to the parade. Hey! It was awesome (well, i got bored at some point, but it didnt matter, it was almost ending). Ok, from pre-kindergarden to 12th grade i was in the same school. Same Chinese buildings, same statues, same yard, same gym, same classmates, same taiwanese mandarin teachers, same bad behaviour. 14 years in that school. When i was 13 or 14 they started forming a marching band. Obviously, i had to be in the marching band. I just love music, and i love good marching bands. Since i was little i wanted to play the flute. I picked one flute and the teacher told me if i made any sound came out of the flute, i could take it home. It sounded so now i had a new baby, a flute! (And i still have the same flute, dont tell anyone hahaha). Bad news, the band just didnt work, so they formed another marching band, just lyres, and drums. Ok, not bad. Im going to play the "tenor" drum, i thought. Everything came good, i was the "tenor" leader in the band, just 3 months before the parade. The year after i decided i wanted to play the xylophone. I liked it so much I played til i was 18 and in the university already hahaha! I even have a scar in my right arm of one accident that happened in a November 3rd before Parade, i cut my arm with the C Note. Well, I played in the band for 5 years. And i still have saudades when i remember i cannot play anymore in that band cause im too old and im not in high school anymore HAHAH. Well, for the first time in my blog, here you have some pictures i took today, almost crying when i saw my school in the parade... IM SO PROUD OF BEING AN ALUMNUS FROM INSTITUTO SUN YAT SEN!! 驕傲為是漢語, 很好, 幾乎!

This is part of my School's Marching Band.

I'm in front of the Little Chinese Lions

And this is the thing i used to play my last years in the Marching Band,
it was sooo cool to play the xylophone!!
